     Princess Joan Plantagenet was born in 1272 in (acre), Akko, Hazafon, Israel.3 She was the daughter of King Edward I "Longshanks" (of England) and Queen Eleanor (of Castile).2 Princess Joan Plantagenet married Earl Gilbert de Clare, son of Richard de Clare and Maud de Lacy.1 Princess Joan Plantagenet died on 23 April 1307 in Clare, Suffolk, England.3 She was buried on 26 April 1307 in Austin Friars' Church, Clare, Suffolk, England.3
     Her married name was Mrs. (Plantagenet) de Clare.1
